The above image, centered on B 72, the Snake Nebula,  covers part of the region seen in Plate 21 of Barnard's "A Photographic Atlas of Selected Regions
of the Milky Way." Image taken with a Tak FSQ and STL11000 Camera. To better simulate the conditions used by Barnard, the image was acquired without
any filter (not even luminance, UV or IR cutoff). 120 minutes total exposure. Faint color added to the monochrome image in processing.
