| Mercury close to far conjunction. Tak TOA 150, 2x Powermate, Skynyx 2-1 Camera While taking images of Venus (at near conjunction) I slewed to Mercury which was at about Alt 40 degrees. Taken in full daylight at 3PM Mar 22 2009 Mercury is nearly full, with an angular separation from the Sun of about 8 degrees 12 minutes ( just far enough to safely image) and at a distance of about 1.35AU. Venus, at Near Conjunction (see Venus Conjunction page) was about 12.5 degrees from the Sun and at a distance of only 0.285 AU by comparison. |
